Job Description

The General Manager is responsible for running day-to-day operations and guiding general business strategy. This position will lead a team of managers, supervisors, and indirect staff, coaching them to collaborate effectively to optimize production and reduce costs without sacrificing quality, tracking cash flow, and setting sales goals.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure production and labor standards are met at each production facility.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action for all standards not hitting goals.
  • Drive Lean Methodology processes and behavior for manufacturing operations.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate production schedules for all production facilities.
  • Responsible for manufacturing overhead rates and driving associated efficiencies.
  • Responsible for the development of improvement plans for manufacturing sites to include automation and equipment improvements, actively demonstrating an ability to lead P&L and be results-oriented.
  • Ensure adherence to production standard work/work instructions; work with managers and supervisors to develop and maintain proper training.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations measured against objectives aligned with company goals.
  • Responsible for environmental compliance to OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Responsible for development and adherence to the annual department budget.

Skills
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Understanding of human resource management, sales, finance, and quality in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in relevant software and systems.

Qualifications
  • Must have 5+ years experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Open to candidates with folding carton, rigid packaging or thermoforming experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Full P&L responsibilities
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certified and proven experience in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.
