Job Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for managing all operations of the facility and implementing strategies to achieve production goals, improve efficiency, and ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees. The Plant Manager will work closely with the General Manager to assist in capital expenditures, staffing requirements, and development while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility to ensure resources are operating to schedule and equipment is maintained and operational to maximum capability.
  • Develop and implement plans for equipment and personnel, adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements to meet safety objectives.
  • Generate and review reports on production performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Set short and long term plant objectives and oversee production systems, process analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Will have some P&L responsibilities.
  • Provide support to the General Manager for administrative, safety, productivity, quality, and profit analysis.
  • Provide technical support to sales and customers in meeting job specifications and requirements.
  • Assist in the design and creation of structured training modules and orchestrate training and cross- training activities.
  • Perform direct report employee evaluations based on training and performance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including employee relations, benefits, safety rules, disciplinary action, and attendance program.
  • Strong understanding of Human Resource, Sales, Finance and Quality as they apply to a manufacturing environment.
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodology and experience implementing it in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate effective manufacturing process and system improvements.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate manufacturing team-based problem-solving efforts.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience.
  • P&L experience preferred.

Qualifications
  • 5-10 years prior experience at a senior level.
  • Must have folding carton experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
