Job Description
The Scheduler / Planner will be responsible for scheduling all production throughout the plant, including printing and converting equipment. This position will also manage the planning department to ensure that jobs are planned to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
Responsibilities
- Schedule jobs to maximize efficiency throughout the plant by minimizing make-ready time and scheduling.
- Manage the PlanningDepartment to ensure jobs are planned to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Ensure that all jobs are planned within 5 business days of the have-ready date.
- Review schedule exceptions and actions for improvement each morning and afternoon.
- Ensure that all communication regarding the schedule, commitment dates, and issues affecting delivery is done in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure that all materials, including plates, are ready at least 24 hours ahead of the press runtime.
- Coordinate outsourced jobs and timing with internal plants and outside vendors to ensure delivery commitments are kept.

- Experience scheduling equipment is preferred, but not required
- Experience with EFI PACE or Monarch is a plus
Qualifications
- Extensive equipment operations knowledge
- College degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years with related experience in packaging and/or print industry, folding carton preferred
- Knowledge of Oracle Manufacturing and use of internet software. Ability to use technology to streamline procedures and tasks
- Good computer skills using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal skills - the ability to handle difficult individuals and maintain a positive professional outlook
